Team IMPACT: Rockhurst Lacrosse to Sign 11-Year-Old with Williams Syndrome

Rockhurst University men’s lacrosse team will officially welcome a new addition to the program this month when they sign 11-year-old draftee Gabe Smith. A native of Park Hill, Missouri, Smith has a genetic disorder called Williams syndrome and connected with Rockhurst through the Team IMPACT program. Team IMPACT matches kids and teams to benefit both the student and the student-athletes. This is the second Team IMPACT signee for Rockhurst — in April 2017 the men’s baseball team drafted 11-year-old Tyler Niemeyer, a Lee’s Summit, Missouri, native diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
